Whether you want to just chat, just play, just watch, or do all three with a glass of wine in hand, The Living Room Jam is the perfect place for improvisers to meet and play!
Welcome to the community event with the freshest improv talent. It’s improv’s open mic, where new and practicing groups can test out their show.
In the first half, Arcade will bring a short-form improv show made up of a series of quick, playful games and challenges, where everything is created on the spot from audience suggestions.
In the second half, Jazz Hands and Other Emergencies will take you on a musical journey through time and space, drifting through forgotten worlds, distant futures, and fleeting moments that exist only for this night. But buckle up! Anything can happen on this ride: from tempo turmoil to key change calamities, from surreal surprises to magical madness.
Messing and Lehr are A Delightful Couple, an improvised comedy romp to wherever they want to go.
Susan Messing a NJ native and graduate of Northwestern University’s Theatre School, has been an improviser and comedian for over 39 years. She is an alumna of the iO Theatre, Chicago’s Second City MainStage, and a founding member of Chicago’s infamous Annoyance Theatre. John Lehr is the star/creator/writer for “10 Items or Less” (TBS), “JailBait” (Sony/Crackle) and “Quickdraw” (Hulu).
Saturday Night Laughs is high energy improv at its best - a double bill featuring two hilarious improv sets to get your weekend started right!
First, a new cast thrown together to explore truth in comedy create hilarious scenes and sketches in the moment based on their own true stories. Then, Helix embark on a freeform journey into the unknown, unfolding the spiraling connections between different worlds, some which appear and blink out in an instant and others which last until the end of time.
