COURSE DESCRIPTION:

What is this scene about? Sometimes we start playing a scene, we create characters, we create an environment, and then… we don’t know what to do. In this course, students will learn the tools to help them move a scene forward and make the big choices to create action. Using the structure of narrative, we will create scenes that have a beginning, middle, and end. This course helps students perfect the what of their improv scenes.

  • Create a Complete Story – Bring your scenes to a satisfying resolution
  • Become a Better Storyteller – Learn what goes into a beginning, middle, and end
  • Make Improv That Makes Sense – Create scenes that tell a story and have a point

Important Information:

  • The first three classes will have Noah Levin as a substitute teacher.
  • A deposit is required to complete your registration. Full payment is due on the first day of class, except in the case of students paying in installments, who will make payments at the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th classes. We do not pro-rate classes. Every student pays the same tuition regardless of attendance.
  • Signing up is a commitment to taking all 10 classes and there are no make up classes. Please inform the teacher if you are unable to attend a class or are arriving late.
  • Class sizes are kept small so as to ensure everyone has maximum opportunity to perform, practice, and get personal feedback with the teacher. With such limited spaces, it’s a good idea to sign up as soon as possible or inquire about availability.
  • Students who miss 3 or more classes will be allowed to finish the class, but their performance in the graduation show will be at the discretion of the instructor.
  • Didn’t register in time?  Don’t fret, just email us to join our waiting list and you will be notified of any open spots. If enough people join the waiting list, a second class may be offered.
