COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Art of the Stage is designed for students who have completed Foundations of Improv and who are looking to sharpen their skills on stage, gain confidence and get plenty of practice applying what they've learned. This fast-paced and high energy class focuses on bringing out the confident, theatrical, and present performer in you. The 10-week course will help you to make bold, committed choices, fill the stage with beautiful images, find the fun in physical and vocal choices and get plenty of practice playing a range of games and scenes.

  • Be Bold – Make big, committed choices and see them through to the end of the scene
  • Be Seen – Learn the art of staging, projection and physicality to create a truly theatrical show
  • Play with Joy – Find the comedy and delight your teammates with joyful scenes
  • Practice Makes Perfect – Apply all that you've learned with regular practice opportunities

Important Information:

  • The first three classes will have Jeremie Day-Glider as a substitute teacher.
  • A deposit is required to complete your registration. Full payment is due on the first day of class, except in the case of students paying in installments, who will make payments at the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th classes. We do not pro-rate classes. Every student pays the same tuition regardless of attendance.
  • Signing up is a commitment to taking all 10 classes and there are no make up classes. Please inform the teacher if you are unable to attend a class or are arriving late.
  • Class sizes are kept small so as to ensure everyone has maximum opportunity to perform, practice, and get personal feedback with the teacher. With such limited spaces, it’s a good idea to sign up as soon as possible or inquire about availability.
  • Students who miss 3 or more classes will be allowed to finish the class, but their performance in the graduation show will be at the discretion of the instructor.
  • Didn’t register in time?  Don’t fret, just email us to join our waiting list and you will be notified of any open spots. If enough people join the waiting list, a second class may be offered.
